Gangsta Granny for Yr 2

My anxiety is getting the better of my because of spending so long inside with no adult company. Can anyone tell me if I've done something stupid, please?

My DD aged 7 has just read David Walliam's Gangsta Granny, and completed a quiz on it in her school website as part of the remote learning. Now, I knew that it was a bit old for her, but she is a very able reader and I thought it was just the complexity of the vocabulary, but now I realise it has a really sad ending.

My DD doesn't seem bothered by the ending at all, but will the teacher wonder what on Earth I was thinking of letting her read this? Will they be concerned?

I know it's not the end of the World, but I'm losing all sense of proportion. Any words of comfort, please?

My year two very sensitive DS is reading it at the moment and watched the tv adaptation at Xmas, no permanent scarring I’m aware of yet

My ds is in y1 and the teacher read it to the class so I don't think it would be thought of as concerning for a y2 child by the school. He can be very sensitive but was not bothered by the ending at all and accepted it.

Watched it with my 3 year old and it's her favourite.
At the end I bawl, she says 'did she die? Ok'
Lol

Absolutely worrying for no reason.
Gangster Granny is sad but so is The Lion King, Bambi etc.
