Is PE with Joe Wicks any good for disabled people?

I am pretty mal coordinated (dyspraxia/autism and autoimmune arthritis) but desperate for a workout, and although I've been outside today I found it very frightening and stressful.

Is PE with Joe Wicks any good for folk like me? I have no movement in one wrist, which reduces any activities like push ups.

Just join in with the bits you can do I guess? It's a mixture of lots of different exercises.

There's loads online though, so just pick any workout video that's suits you.

NuffSaidSam · 26/03/2020 20:08

It's very full on.

Why don't you watch one and see? They're all on YouTube.

If you want something a bit more gentle, Yoga with Adrienne is good and she does videos for people with limited movement.

Honestly I don't think he's good for anyone except children my legs were killing me after Monday. I've made myself scarce every day since. Think there was a whingey thread about some poor soul with a throbbing bottom thanks to him and lack of stretch/ warmup.

It's aimed at children, so not too hardcore.
Funnily enough Joe Wicks has got a broken hand at the moment, so he can't do all the exercises himself!
I'm really unfit and have arthritis and I've just been doing the bits I can. It's a nice feeling to be doing it with hundreds of thousands of others at the same time.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 26/03/2020 20:13

I joined in with the bits I can do or adapt stuff a bit.

bellinisurge · 26/03/2020 20:13

I have MS. I do the bits I can.

theotherfossilsister · 26/03/2020 20:14

thank you guys, someone else recommended yoga with Adrienne and it sounds really good, but would love something to burn off the wired feeling from being inside all the time.

I shouldn't smile about the throbbing bottom, but I am smiling.

I have fibromyalgia. Did it on Monday. Woke up on Tuesday unable to move. It's only tonight that things are easing.

theotherfossilsister · 26/03/2020 20:17

Thank you to folks saying do the bits you can, that sounds like a good idea. Do you need any equipment or can you just ad lib it (is that even the right word?)

It’s rather jumpy designed with kids in mind.

theotherfossilsister · 26/03/2020 20:22

@Groovee That sounds terrible, and terrifying.

No equipment needed.

Gingernaut · 26/03/2020 20:30

There are a couple of videos he has on his channel aimed at seniors.

LER83 · 26/03/2020 20:33

He has got loads of videos on his youtube channel. I would have a search and watch a few. He does some aimed at older people which might be a good intro. I usually walk through the routines first before throwing myself into them!

Lucygucy · 26/03/2020 20:43

He has some workouts for seniors and also chair based workouts on his you tube channel so you could have a look through.
He is on Facebook as The Body Coach so perhaps you could message him on there and ask if any are more suitable for you. I think It's run by him and his brother so you should get a sensible answer.
