Reckon this was the BBQ posted about earlier on MN behind someone’s mums house. (Can’t find the thread now)

Can’t believe they wouldn’t disperse even for the police! Shock

I feel like I’ve said this a million times in the last week but what is wrong with people?

Totalitarian states never have the right idea, what a stupid statement. If we sacrifice our freedoms and the rule if law then what is the point. There is nothing more important than human rights. Sensible legislation to deal with a temporary crisis will not erode our rights, the government trying to hang on to those powers after the crisis would be the thing to worry about.

what is wrong with people?

And it's these people who have made it so we are in this situation, and who may make it so we end up with even stricter restrictions in place.

It's people like these who have helped lead us to this situation.

They've lead us to the point when my MIL can no longer visit FIL in hospital (it was one hour, one person a day) despite him having terminal cancer and about to move to a hospice. We've no idea, if he goes down hill even more rapidly before these three weeks are up or if they end up going in further, whether she will even be able to see him before he dies. Or after he dies.

It's these people who have ensured that Dh can't see his father. We had planned that he'd be able to visit briefly at the hospital once our isolation was up this weekend. But because people have been stupid and irresponsible it means he may never see his father again.

It's the selfishness. The stupidly and the downright irresponsible nature of them. And they still won't be the ones to suffer.

Seriously, if the government bring in legislation too soon people will be complaining that they’re eroding our human rights.

They’re already complaining about that. Doesnt meant it’s unnecessary though.
