Ds is on medication for his mental health and only get two weeks worth at a time. Is this normal could this be increased to one/two months considering the situation.

I've only ever been given two weeks at a time, I'm on anti depressants and thyroxine.

I get my MH medication once a month. Has he only just started taking it recently? They may be keeping a closer eye on him.

No he’s been on them over a year now. He was on weekly.

Yep, I had 2 weekly prescriptions and monthly GP appointments. However this was long before coronavirus. I don't think you'll get longer prescriptions now though as they will want to ensure everyone gets some meds rather than a few getting more, although I appreciate going to the pharmacy every two weeks also isn't a particularly safe option either.

It varies depending on risk and how much monitoring the person needs (whether in terms of the mental health condition or physical health concerns). And whether anyone has had time to review the frequency.

I've been on weekly prescriptions in the past but most of mine are every two months now.

Doesn't hurt to ask.

It may depend on how lethal the medication is if an overdose is taken.

It also might be due to it having a resale value.

Which antidepressant does he take? Some are very tightly controlled as they are lethal in overdose.
