Good handcream for 7yo (non stingy.gentle)

Poor ds 7 has red chapped hands from all the antibac gel and handwashing. My body shop hemp handcream made his hands sting. Any good recommendations for non stingy handcream?

Nivea creme is doing wonders for us!

Aveeno maybe

I bought some Dermol cream from the pharmacy for my DD - seems to be doing the job, she had also complained about cosmetic type hand creams.

Medihoney is wonderful for irritated skin. I used to use it when my eczema was really bad but not yet infected. It was practically the only thing that didn't sting in the tiny little cuts (which your son probably has if it's stinging).

It is quite expensive but it's really worth it. You can get it on prescription.

Switch to bar soap if you have any. Makes a huge difference.

We've been using aveeno with our littles.

Another vote for Aveeno

Unscented Neutrogena.

Any moisturiser without significant scent will probably be ok. We use nivea.

If you have bio oil, a squirt in their bath can be very helpful and moisturises well (whole body in fact). I also apply it directly to ds' skin on hands and wrists at bed time. It takes the redness and hints of bleeding away overnight but then requires a regular moisturiser in the morning for general dryness.

I find coconut oil amazing for dd (10) whose hands have been really chapped and cracked

BammBamm · 22/03/2020 00:42

Unscented neutrogena here too. I have very dry, sensitive hands. The la Roche posay one is also good.

BiarritzCrackers · 22/03/2020 00:54

I've been putting Aveeno on DS.

I would say Avena too. Vaseline Intensive care lotion is also excellent.
