Anyone shocked to see how young all the important people are?

I'm usually fairly well informed on current affairs but I get most of my information from written word or radio. I know the name of the Educatiom Secretary, for example but I wouldn't recognise him.

Since I've been watching the briefings, I've been somewhat distressed to realise just how young some of these people in very responsible places are.

I know it's my age, but anyone else?

I experienced my first 'You know you're getting old when....' moment back in 2010 when David Cameron became PM. He was the first PM during my lifetime who was younger than me. I was 46,he was EXACTLY 3 years younger than me,because we share the same birthday. Not that that's anything to boast about.Grin

Leo Varadkar became Prime Minister of Ireland at 38. Definitely made me feel old.

Dominic Cummings is 48. Everyone is underestimating his importance in getting us to where we are now, it seems. And I'm more concerned about the fact he appears to have fallen off the edge of the planet. Makes me wonder what he's REALLY up to.

I honestly thought Rishi Sunak was a very geeky looking 28 or so. DS works in Westminster and has friends who have worked for him. They all say he is incredibly bright and capable and a very kind boss; there is quite a buzz about him apparently.
