Thinking of buying a new cleaner and am considering Miele, does anyone have one and would you buy again?

I have one and it’s actually my second one. I think they’re brilliant and would definitely buy again.

Ihavenoideawhatmyusernameis · 19/03/2020 11:23

I have a Miele cat and dog blizzard. It’s fab! Definitely would buy again

LovelyBitOfSquirrelJackie · 19/03/2020 11:24

Mine’s great, a cylinder cat and dog one. A c2, I think. I had an upright that I didn’t rate but the cylinder is good. My only minor gripe is that I wish the power cable was a little longer.

Oh and the bags and filters cost a fortune. I buy in bulk on Amazon but they are still £££.

TheVanguardSix · 19/03/2020 11:24

The best! DH tried to convert me to a Shark. Couldn't, wouldn't, didn't shake my faith. I sold the Shark on eBay.

Bloatstoat · 19/03/2020 11:25

I agree - we've had our six years and still working well, so much better than our previous Dyson!

AddressLabel · 19/03/2020 11:26

I have a miele c3 eco one. It's ok but not brilliant. The plastic part that you attach the telescopic pole to broke and it cost an arm and a leg to buy a branded part so I got a cheap one off ebay a d it's not as good.

MargotsLine · 19/03/2020 11:30

I bought my Miele Cat and Dog C3 machine after Mumsnet reviewed it and then I saw this chap review it. He reviews a lot of vacuum cleaners so he is a good one to look at for all machines. I have had mine about 3 years and I absolutely love it.

Mine has buttons you can press with your feet so no bending down to change the power setting, the only issue with it is sometimes the hose knocks the cord return button and it starts winding itself up Grin but that happens once in every 30 uses.

It comes with the two heads, one I use only on the hard floors which is all of my downstairs except the lounge, for carpets I use the other head which is meant for pet hair. I don't have pets but this is an incredible machine.

PsuedoSatisfactionBaby · 19/03/2020 11:43

Yes. Absolutely worth it.

Fuss · 19/03/2020 12:29

DS has a Shark at his house which I use occasionally, I still prefer my Blizzard Cat & Dog.

dayswithaY · 19/03/2020 12:33

My Miele is an unstoppable force. It's over ten years old and still amazing.

frazzledasarock · 19/03/2020 12:36

Five got a Miele C3, it is brilliant has been going strong for five years.

The bags don’t need changing that often I get a years worth for £20 on Amazon.

It doesn’t lose suction and works as well as the first time I ever used it.

The brush head is a bit annoying to clean as it doesn’t come apart completely. But I can clean it.

It’s easy to use on stairways and isn’t heavy. The accessories nearly pack away under the main body cover, and it’s fairly compact to store.

If I needed a new hoover I would replace with a Miele.

daisypond · 19/03/2020 12:37

I’m not keen on mine. The dust doesn’t seem to always go into the bag and just fills the canister instead and the filters are always blocked. No idea what is going wrong.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 19/03/2020 12:40

I have just bought a new one after my 16 year old one blew up. They are so worth the money. Not keen on uprights so I can only speak for the cylinder ones. The junior one I have just bought actually lifts my heavy rug clean off the floor!

PrayingandHoping · 19/03/2020 12:44

Yes had one and it lasted really well. Finally replaced it with a Shark and oh my word! The amount of dirt the shark got out of my rugs and carpets that the Miele hadn't was astonishing.

LittlePearl · 19/03/2020 12:48

Mine's ancient and still going strong. Would buy again.

TreestumpsAndTrampolines · 19/03/2020 12:54

I've got the cat and dog one.

I haven't had a bagged cleaner for 20 years, and now I have one again I can't imagine why we ever stopped (well, except for the cost). The suction is fantastic, I've had it for 6 months and will have to change the bag for the second time soon (and that's even including hoovering up all the christmas tree needles) - one day it'll suddenly drop to no suction, and I'll just chuck the little compressed brick of stuff in the bin and put in a new one.

I love that it has a compartment for the tools, that the brush head can clip onto it in multiple places. The lead is long enough that I can plug it in once, and use it through the whole (2.5 bed) house.

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 19/03/2020 12:57

I wouldn't want to buy any other brand now.

Yes, you have to buy the bags and filters, which is an extra outlay, but we tend to buy a stock of them and they last absolutely ages. They're part of what make it such an efficient machine.

BertiesLanding · 19/03/2020 12:59

Yes, we love ours.

BertiesLanding · 19/03/2020 12:59

^^ Cat and Dog.

BatshitCrazyWoman · 19/03/2020 12:59

They are excellent - exh kept my cat and dog cylinder one but I am buying another one. The suction is amazing!

Reginabambina · 19/03/2020 13:00

I have one, it’s brilliant!

Billyeyelash · 19/03/2020 13:00

Sebo is also fabulous.
Mine is 15yrs old and seen through several building events, kids, cats, etc.

Ive just given its rollers a little TLC today and roaring away like it's new.

Haworthia · 19/03/2020 13:01

I’ve got the C3 Cat and Dog too (and I don’t have any pets!).

Top tip - it’s worth shelling out for a replacement filter after a year or so. Just replaced mine after three years and the difference in suction is amazing Blush

johnwayneisbigleggy · 19/03/2020 13:44

I'm a cleaner and they are the best vacuums you can get by a long way. They're reliable, good suction and seem to last forever - mine lasted years - I have a dyson now which was given to me but it's awful compared to my old Miele
