Can you suggest good educational websites while DC are off school?

Apologies if this is already being covered--I can't see anything.

Both my DD's have coughs etc so we're following advice and keeping them away from school for two weeks. We're in Scotland--DD1 is 12 (in S1) and DD2 is 10 (in P5).

Can anyone suggest good reading/maths sites to use for them? They've been mooching around for a few days, but feel like it's time they do something!

In case it makes a difference, DD2 is dyslexic and we're getting DD1 tested for dyslexia (and I'm pretty sure she is).

They should be able to access GLOW. If not, email the school and ask for their usernames and for their passwords to be reset.

It is the Scottish Schools intranet.

There's a thread in Preppers about home ed resources, very useful Smile

Thank you.

I’d forgotten about GLOW. Should that have work they can do on there?

Visit www.twinkl.com/offer and use the code UKTWINKLHELPS to get a free month of ultimate membership. Twinkl are giving this to all teachers and parents to help. Loads of stuff on there for EYFS up to KS3/4.

When I sat down today to figure out what my kids already use through school it was surprisingly extensive: Mathswizz and Mathletics for maths, Linguascope for French, Reading Eggspress and Accelerated Reader.

They're loving the TedEd videos and BBC bitesize.

I've also signed them up for diy.org for some slightly different projects and challenges, so we'll see how that goes too.
