Self employed and over 70, where do you contact with help for loss of earnings?

So the government promised help for all. My BinL is 71 and self employed builder, has lots of local work and is really worried if it is imposed on over 70s to isolate.

Didnt the Government say they would help everyone? Who can he contact to find out?

If there is any help, it will probably be prioritised to people with no income.

Your BIL should already have about £700 pm pension as a minimum, plus housing benefit if he rents his home. That should be more than enough to pay his basic expenses

No he just has state pension and still works. Own's his home

His state pension is the £700 pm, or it might be slightly less if he retired under the old system. But then he would be entitled to pension credit if that's his only income.

My point still stands. He is far better off than working people who have exactly £0 pm coming in because the restaurant or wherever they work in has no customers. If they manage to claim UC, it will be a lot less than your uncle has coming in unless they have DC too and might well have a mortgage to pay and several mouths to feed.
