Sickness bug help?

So, DS2 picked up his first ever sickness bug from
Nursery last week, started on the Friday morning and was throwing up every 24hr or so until the Monday night.

He's had a runny nappy most days since, but yesterday finally started to go back to normal, but last night thew up again? Is this normal?

Both me and DS1 started with it on the Saturday night and we're fine by Sunday.

Absolutely panicking like mad and I know there's worse things in the world than a sickness bug but I'm absolutely petrified of being/feeling sick (awaiting cbt)

Sorry for the grim thread Envy

In my experience this is normal. I've found both of my children are really up and down when they have d and v. It's very unpredictable and takes a huge toll on my mental health as I never know what's coming. I feel for you OP, for me it's one of the hardest parts of parenting.
Your DS is probably fine if he's well in himself though and keeping water down. You'll just need to deal with your own worries Sad

He's perfectly happy in himself, he's just ploughed through his cereal.

I just don't understand why he's thrown up again after 5 days Sad

In the range of normal, sorry.
You're probably immune and not able to share the germs when he's still able to shed the virus and even suffer a little from it (sorry) bc he's so young. It is actually normal for small ones with immature immune systems to take longer to get fully better. You'll be suffering a lot more than him merely from dreading it. He's probably feeling very well

All part of the joys of parenting...

Sometimes, when they've been ill their stomach just isn't ready for normal food and can result in more sick, doesn't mean they aren't better, just that they need to take it slowly. I always offer quite plain foods following sickness, breadsticks, toast, bananas, rich tea biscuits, I avoid strong fruit juice and milk as a rule.

We had one in January that was on and off for 3 weeks. On two occassions both kids passed the 48 hour mark, went back to school/nursery for a day then it started all over again. It was horrendus but we got through it (I have had CBT for sickness fear and hasn't cured it but I do manage much better now.)

Glad to hear it's somewhat normal, Thankyou all so much!

My DC2 is really funny with tummy bugs. Sick once or twice, dodgy tummy. Gets to 40 hours clear and then starts again Shock she is in reception and has had a lot of time off due to her weird presentation of D&V and the 48h rule

I'm an emetophobe as well (currently having therapy) so it's really, really difficult for me.
