High bp in teenager

I started a thread about this in general health but not sure how much traffic is there.

Basically my son’s bp is 136/76, which seems high to me. Does anybody know about it and what should we do?

He is generally fit, active and eats healthily.

What does the NHS website say is normal for his age, weight etc.

Anything over 120 is a concern according to most sites

If you're worried about it, see a GP

His dr isn't concerned, did they think he was ok. Why did he have his BP taken, it can vary during the day for several reasons.

We will see gp but it’s Friday night and I just wondered if anyone had any idea why it would be high.

We saw a gp at the out of hours service last night. Went in as nurse on 111 said we had to see a doctor within 2 hours after I had spoken to her and answered their questions. I contacted them as he was vomiting and saying he felt “odd”. I think nurse was concerned as he answered yes to the question about malaria, although DS went to Africa last summer and has been ok since. Told all this to the doctor but he wasn’t concerned and asked why we were there!

A one off BP may not concern the gp, especially if he was feeling rubbish and was in the ooh hospital. Hope he us ok and ut was just a blip.

Thank you.
It is still high this evening but as he is still feeling nauseous it could well be that. Will see how he gets on in next few days.
