A serum for INCREDIBLY dry skin?

I’ve got very very dry skin. So dry that I can rub my face a few times with my finger and dry flakes of skin will come off my face! Blush I want to buy a serum or moisturiser that really soaks in the skin and which will show an improvement I’m a few days. I’m looking for something that isn’t too oily but isn’t too light at the same time. I’ve been looking at Gatineau today but there are about 10 different things with all different names. It’s so confusing to what they’re all for. Anyone got any recommendations? I want to spend less than £50. Thanks!

Child’s farm, honestly amazing for dry/eczema skin

So those 2 acids that have been mentioned are for moisture? Which one is best the one beginning with h or g? Do they both do the same thing?

One glycolic exfoliates and one increases moisture, hyularonic. Personally glycolic is too strong so I use azeliac or lactic.

Which one MrsP,? I have the blue label.moisturizing lotion and don't find it sinks in the cream I linked to up thread. Completely different from the lotion.

hyuloronic acid sounds scary, and I assumed it would strip my skin off, but it actually absorbs moisture. You always use it with another moisturiser though- not just on its own. I believe its similar or the same as something found naturally in the body anyways- just has a scary name!

The best thing I've used for a similar condition is much like Vaseline but with a slightly different mix. It's Aquaphor healing ointment. I've had all kinds of things from the doctor but this is great.

OP, great advice above.

A jar of good honey spread all over your face is an incredible moisturizer.

Leave it for as long as you can...up to an hour. Wash off and moisturize with something recommended above.

Honey is incredibly hydrating and soothing.

I have really dry skin and I'm really impressed with the ordinary. I use their daily set, between cleanse and moisturiser I use a hydrating mist + Hyaluronic Acid. In the evenings I use their glycolic acid toner as well ( after cleanse, before mist). Boots have just brought out a similar range to ordinary and although they don't list concentrations, I believe their glycolic acid is less concentrated than the ordinary (basing on reading reviews) so if you do go for a glycolic acid and react, don't give up - give a weaker one a try.

I have found that my skin is super plump, springy and soft. BUT I have broken out in spots on the side of my face I sleep on!! (Currently trialling daily pillowcase changes to see if that helps). Imo make up covers spots much better than it sits on dry skin so for step 1 of improving my skin I'm quite happy. Now I've settle my skin to current routine, I'll be tweaking if the pillow case doesn't solve spots, but only slightly. Might try oils suggested above too to get my skin to truly radiant.

I have eczema and very dry skin to the point of flaking. Mine improved dramatically when I changed to Liz Earle products. I currently use the hot cloth cleanser, skin tonic and Skin Repair Moisturiser. I use the Intensive Nourishing Treatment Mask when it needs a boost. I've used the Superskin range before, including the concentrate which was amazing but expensive.
