Can you suggest somewhere for us to go on holiday in the uk?

We like Southwold, Wells next the sea, Tenby and Dorset but fancy a change. There are just the 3 of us, me, DH and DD aged 12. We prefer self catering rather than hotels and the dd is hopeful of things to do on the holiday. We want to be near the coast. We live in the Midlands so would prefer to travel south rather than north, just in the hope of sunnier weather. This holiday will be in August so peak season. Can anyone suggest nice places for us to look at? Thanks.

@Burneyfanny I've never been to the Scilly isles but it looks lovely! That's going on the list too. Thanks

@RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie I had never heard of the Field Studies Council, but this looks like the kind of holiday I was looking for. Could you describe it a bit? What age would you think it suitable for? Mine would be 13 and 10 and I am wondering if the 13 year old would be too old (although she would love this kind of thing the most out of all of us)
