Snoring is horrific

My snoring is very bad. You would think that I’m an overweight lump but no! I am 5’10 and a size 8. I am young, I exercise daily and have a very healthy diet. My poor bf is suffering lol. Any tips on how to stop this???

I wish I knew. I snore like a hog. Massive weight loss made nof difference.

I once spent a ridiculous amount of money on one of those bracelet things. Complete waste.

My bf snores. I discovered ear plugs a few months ago. Best. Thing. Ever.

Please go to your GP if you haven't been already, there could be an underlying cause. I have sleep apnoea which means I stop breathing in my sleep and I snore really loud. It can be very dangerous so it's worth getting checked out!

Thanks @Heartofglass12345. Will look into this

The nasal strips work to some extent.

Ditto the GP. DH has sleep apnoea, and he is really skinny. He uses a CPAP machine, as he was having 50 non breathing episodes an hour, the longest one lasting 117 seconds!

It would take many months for you to get an NHS appointment at a sleep clinic. You can hire the equipment to do a sleep test at home. It will cost about £200. Google it - there are several companies.
I did one and discovered I have mild sleep apnoea (I am a thunderous snorer) only if I sleep on my back. I now have a device to stop me doing so, but, tbh, a tennis ball shoved into a bra has a similar effect - which you could try.
Not all cases of sleep apnoea need a c pap machine. I feel so much better now. I sleep like a log and have gone back to proper dreaming. I thought it was my age stopping me from dreaming, but I think it was disturbed REM sleep!

I definitely would. I didn't have to wait that long for the initial sleep study but have been waiting ages for a CPAP machine Sad but it might not be that anyway, it's just worth getting checked out Smile

Don’t be offended, but do you drink much? DP’s snoring is made much worse by alcohol. You might also be able to lessen it by sleeping on your side.

It’s good that you want to do something about it, and I’d second seeking medical advice.

Separate bedrooms.

My husband snores and I really really wish we set out having separate bedrooms when we were young.

One of my DC and his wife do shift work and have always had their own bedrooms. They think it's great and they have a fantastic relationship as far as I can tell.
