What has happened to Kellogg’s Cornflakes?

Not had them in years! for some reason suddenly had a craving for the crispy deep golden flakes with ice cold milk that I remember from my youth, bought some today and tucked into a bowl, what a let down! They are nothing like I remember, the flakes are tiny and pale! I remember them being a really deep golden colour and the flakes were large and stayed crispy! Within a couple of minutes I was eating pale mush, so disappointed, it felt like I was eating cheap knock off cornflakes rather than the real deal. Any foods or products that you have gone back to years later which have been nothing but a bitter, bitter disappointment!?

Haha this reminds me of when my colleague mentioned how he saw Tizer - the red fizzy drink, at the local shops so brought it into work for me because i said how i havent had it since i was 10. It was awful, nothing like i had remembered.

It’s because they take the sugar and colourings out of everything. Arctic roll is another one. The newer version is a pale imitation of the old one. And squares crisps are another casualty.

If they are taking stuff out must be a lot cheaper to produce as well so it’s a win win for Kellogg’s etc, I actually thought I must have had sweepings of the factory floor the quality seemed so poor compared to how I remember them. I concur with the square crisps, the salt and vinegar ones used to take to roof of your mouth off, sadly no longer. Same with Ribera as well, just tastes like flavoured water now.

I actually felt the same when eating Kellogg's Rice Krispies recently. They tasted like a cheapie brand; like eating tasteless sawdust, really.

I had some Rice Krispies a while back, they tasted like they weren’t cooked properly, like they should have been baked for longer, who wants anemic Rice Krispies? I think Kellogg’s are trying to save on the energy bill as well.

I fancied some Kellogg’s Frosties the other week, but they were tasteless pieces of cardboard , such a let down. I’d rather have proper Frosties just once a week than this awful new recipe.
