Ski resort recommendations anyone

I am trying to arrange a ski trip for a group of 6 people, and everyone’s requirements are a pain, I was wondering if anyone could assist in recommending anywhere with the following criteria.

Everyone can ski, but there are two very nervous skiiers. So I’m looking for somewhere with enough skiing for them to actually do rather than be stuck on 1/2 runs all week

The other four are excellent skiiers and one of them has ruled out the Bulgarian resorts due to lack of skiing KM (I really didn’t care about that but someone has put their foot down)

Has to be Europe
Can’t be too expensive
Has to have a good ski school as one of the nervous skiers would rather just ski with an instructor. The youngest person there will be 30 so no need for a kids club or anything like that
Nice places for food and drink but not too lively (which is a shame for me as my favourite resorts are Borovets and Sauze....)

I’ve been looking into the German resorts but know no one who has skiied in Germany so any first hand advice would be welcomed! As would any other recommendations

We love Andorra, mixture of abilities in the group, there are some runs that even the most experienced skiiers can enjoy with the nervous skiiers. We go to Soldeu hotel Tarter. Really beautiful areas to ski? El Tarter quieter of the 2 but Soldeu not particular hectic but has some fabulous bars.

The ski instructors are brilliant, much better than when we have skiied in France.

Andorra fan here. El Tartre was excellent for beginners but lots of links to different areas.Canillo and En Camp also great!

El tarter...

We love the Dolomites. You have the Sella Ronda which caters for most skiers. We stay in Selva Val Gardena, but anywhere with access to the slopes would be fine.

We love Belle Plagne - high, always snow, good mix of runs and lots of them :-)

Åre in Sweden is great. There's a whole area for beginners (Rödkullen if you look on a piste map) and they also host world class events with some very challenging runs. Direct flight from Gatwick to the regional airport (Ostersund)

Forgot to add that skiing in El Tarter/Soldeu also links to other areas, Grau is fab with the igloos and panoramic restaurant at the top (although the ski down from there is not for beginners)

Serre chevalier quite rustic typucally french villages but good for all aptitudes, les arcs great skiing, modern resort but nice little town at the bottom of the mountain, la plagne - modern but nice easy skiing
visited garmisch partenkirchen in bavaria years ago - ex dp wanted to ski the glacier there - again lovely quaint town but recall a drive to the lifts, but may be wrong. Zell am zee -austria- again years ago - nice town

Sierra Nevada.

I'm a nervousex skier and it's the only place I've felt comfortable.

DH (black run skier) likes it.

There's also a fantastic gin bar.

Granada is the nearest airport.

We loved Radisson Blu Resort in Trysil Norway. Local ski school is Skistar. It's ski in/ski out.

Morzine - lots of good English language ski schools, huge ski area and kind to beginners. Reasonably lively.

Flaine is also great for accommodating everyone but the eating/drinking options aren’t as lively. Cheap for France and snowsure.

Have you listened to what's going on in the news at the moment ?

I would assume OP is thinking of 2021? Season is almost over this year.

I've just skiied in Les Arcs, which was great for the friend in our party who is a very nervous skier (despite having been for 10 years or so) but who wanted to see the top of the mountain. There are a range of easy blues right up on top of the world, and you can always get the lift down if you have had enough.

CallmeAngelina · 06/03/2020 19:01

Plus some really pretty long greens down through the forest.
And of course, some fabulous challenging reds and blacks for the rest of you.
About a 2.5 hour transfer from Geneva.

adaline · 06/03/2020 19:01

Les Arcs is nice. I also love Kitzbuhel, Zermatt and Lech.
