Why do I struggle with my hips so much?

I’m 29 and since my first child at 17 and epidural Iv always suffered with back ache.

Fast forward to my second child and I had bad spd, to the point of crutches.

Had my third and final 4 years ago and again spd started from 8 weeks.

My left hip especially hurts and I have to frequently open my legs wide to “pop” it and it feels better. If I move the wrong way it hurts and I have to click it.

I started a new job and yesterday I was either sat on a hard chair or standing, my back and hips are so painful today! Both needed to be clicked, I can barely put any weight on my right side 😩

Uhh I’m going to need hip replacements aren’t I 😂

hi OP, I wonder if you have hip dysplasia? I'm 53, so older than you, but I discovered my hip joints weren't properly formed, it wasn't picked up when I was born. I only discovered this two years ago when I had an x-ray because my hips hurt all the time. Hope you get a solution, I manage with painkillers at the minute but I do wonder what's ahead of me!

Hypermobility? Have you tried a private physiotherapist?

Weak pelvic floor / core is probably the cause of the back pain. Try basic yoga moves like the plank or happy baby pose to rebuild strength and flexibility. As for the SPD...that is probably being aggravated by your clicking your hip so definitely stop doing it! Instead try gentle hip stability exercises - eg sitting on a swiss ball and rolling them clockwise and anti-clockwise, stretching, even walking at a brisk pace can help

The popping hip could be iliopsoas bursitis-I have that and sometimes have to make it pop to feel a release. And it does get very achy.

You say to stop clicking it but if I don’t I can’t walk properly/have pressure. It’s awful :(

I have lipodemia and I wonder if that has something to do with it?
