Been summoned to doctors with symptoms of cold!

Hi there,thoughts on this please.Doctor is withholding my repeat prescription unless I go to surgery today for review.I have cold symptoms,auto immune disease and run out of meds now.

I don't understand why consultant didn't speak to gp directly

Sorry, I don’t understand what your consultant thinks you should have been asking your GP to do? Insisting on a telephone consultation or asking for swabbing? Both of which the consultant is welcome to do themselves but I don’t think they have the right to tell your GP to do it.

Are you being swabbed for cov-19 specifically or to generally find out why you’ve got a cough?

I’m immune suppressed. Often catch colds but never bronchitis

As is my son, who has acute asthma and never had bronchitis.

It sounds as if your trip to the drs was beneficial.
