Ofsted types of inspection

Ofsted arrived

I thought inspections had number types. Aren't schools supposed to tell you (parents) they are arriving and what type of inspection they are undertaking?

No. Schools do have to issue a questionnaire but that would only be after they had actually arrived. Schools get told one day at 3pm they will be there the next day. It will be a bog standard three yearly inflection unless concerns have befncrsised.

Outstanding school not inspected for over 7 years.

I imagine the number type is relevant !

The type of Inspection can change as they progress and the results are confidential until the paperwork is drafted and agreed and finalised.

Outstanding schools are inspected as normal now so it doesn't mean there is any problem if they have arrived

Are they? The latest guidance says they are exempt from routine inspections unless OFSTED are concerned about their performance.

It's not changed yet. There's just been a consultation:

The number type isn’t relevant. Regardless of what it is, it wouldn’t alter a judgement they made one way or the other.
