Do you feel sometimes it works better than others. Some months I feel fantastic. And then other months the same symptoms come back again.

I asked my GP and he re tested my levels. And they were fine. I just feel sometimes it just isn’t enough. I was late by two weeks as well this time and I feel awful.

They don’t make me feel any different! I feel perpetually tired.

Ifartglitterybaubles · 03/03/2020 13:37

My husband noticed he was beginning to feel horrible before his next jab was due they retested him and changed his to every 10 weeks. So far it seems to be working.

Drivemybluecar · 03/03/2020 13:39

I have been on 10 weeks and it didn’t seem to make much difference. Some times I feel fab. Others like this one have been pants and I feel terrible. I also take vit d as well

They don't make any difference to me.

WokeyMcWokeface · 03/03/2020 14:10

Yes! Like sometimes it doesn’t “take”. I try not to leave it more than 11 weeks but I have to be careful which of the practices nurses I go to as one of them won’t do it unless it’s 13 weeks since my last one.

WokeyMcWokeface · 03/03/2020 14:12

And I always start getting some symptoms (in addition to the exhaustion) by the time my next jab is due.

Drivemybluecar · 03/03/2020 15:11

One nurse told me that they are supposed to last for six months. I laughed when she told me that.

Okay. As long as I’m not the only one. I’m going to be kind to myself today. Skip the gym as I just don’t have the energy and go to bed instead

I wonder why they don’t seem to work some months.

I order mine from Germany and self inject daily. Huge community on FB of people who need it more frequently than NHS guidelines. Petitions available as well.

Tulipstulips · 03/03/2020 16:30

TenCornMaidens, could you PM me where you get your B12, please? I keep thinking I should do this but I’m worried about getting the right/unadulterated stuff.

DaisyDreaming · 03/03/2020 16:40

I have them far far more often, I don’t notice it now but before I used to get a boost sometimes more than others

BorisTheBellend · 03/03/2020 16:45

Ahh shit I am new to B12 injections and was due mine on Feb 20th and this thread has just reminded me to book in. I have had a big break out of spots on my face and am wondering now if it's because of that?

I really need to make sure I get mine on time next time. I've a head like a sieve and forget things when they're not within the next few days.

BuzzingBee100 · 03/03/2020 17:00

Have you tried an alternative (oral b12 spray). Can be found on amazon and has greatly upped my B12 levels so might work for you too?

Cheap and easy

Khione · 03/03/2020 17:01

I also order from Germany - symptoms start to come back after around 4 weeks and there is no way the NHS will prescribe them that often.

Syringes and needles from Amazon

edgewater · 03/03/2020 17:08

I don’t feel a difference.

Never ever ask them to test you again. Drs withdraw treatment as your levels can appear normal.

TenCornMaidens · 03/03/2020 17:32

Honestly, join the FB group Pernicious Anaemia / B12 Deficiency - Support Group.

They have tons of info about suppliers and symptoms and all sorts. Brilliant support.

Tulipstulips · 04/03/2020 12:17

@BorisTheBellend when I first started to have the injections, I got very spotty each time, but it doesn’t happen any more.

I’ll join the FB group, thanks.

waterbottle12 · 16/03/2020 05:43

Big placebo effect to b12, lots of people want it more often though levels normal.. Its likely psychological

TenCornMaidens · 16/03/2020 17:49

Well, I was on a mobility scooter and virtually bed bound so not in my case.

BrennieGirl · 16/03/2020 18:31

I have to have them following gastric surgery last year but they don't make any difference to me at all.
