Why do strangers keep coming to my door?!

I've lived in my house for just over 2 years
Since over a year ago I have had strangers (mostly men, but one woman) knock at my door then when I answer they state that they are at the wrong door then walk away
This has happened about 8 times roughly
And it's really creeping me out
On one of these occasions when answering the door the guy was stood there with his back towards me for at least 15 seconds before he even said anything
Surely if these people are genuinely looking for someone that used to live here they would have spoken to them within the past 2 years to know that they no longer live here. conspiracy theories are going around in my head
As to why strangers keep coming to my door

Maybe if you do an advanced search for this exact scenario, that was posted about previously, you might get some good ideas as to what to do about it op?

My first thought was either a sex worker lived there or a drug dealer.

Once they see it's not the person they were expecting they can't just come out and say oh I was just looking for some for But they must have moved so they just say wrong house.

There is a beautician local to me, whose internet address directions look like they point to our house. We get people who knock, realise at a glance that I'm no beautician and leave with only a muttered "wrong house". It was a very weird feeling until someone actually told me about the beautician.
