What will happened when Openreach engineer comes out?

Posting in chat for traffic.

I'm having problems with my Sky Broadband. New router sent out - same problems. Engineer booked for Wednesday.

Here's the issue: I'm having Karndean put down tomorrow. We have been prepping for ages for it and it's finally here! BUT will an OpenReach engineer need under my floorboards to check the wire?

I'm scared I'll be told they need to pull up bits of my new floor.

Help!

Most of the time the engineer doesn't even come inside. Never had them go under floorboards!

not a problem. Openreach's responsibility stops at the front of the box where the line comes into the house. They will try very hard to tell you that the fault is your stuff so stand your ground.

I had endless trouble with Sky, all went away when I switched to Plusnet. Fault in the exchange which Sky wouldn't accept. Doesn't mean that is your problem of course.

With us, BT only commissioned openreach after they'd identified a fault between our house and the exchange. If you check your fault on the BT tracker there should be a little graphic showing where their remote checks have identified a disconnect.
As pp said, if they think it's with your in-house equipment they'll not come into the house but will try to bill you for the(wasted) openreach visit.
