Where would you holiday in the UK?

We’re looking at UK holidays as our youngest has autism and we’re not quite ready to risk a plane trip yet. They’re 12,11 and 7. Ideally lots of outdoor stuff like the coast. NT type places, museums aren’t a massive concern. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Northumberland - much quieter than Cornwall even in the school holidays and the southwest but still plenty of good beaches / castles / nt properties.

West Wales coast would be lovely. Anywhere around Pembroke or ceredigion

Where are you based? What are your children like on long drives?

East Neuk of Fife. St Andrews and Elie have lovely beaches and if the weather's poor, Dundee has great attractions for children.

Bovisand Lodge Holiday Park near Plymouth. It's amazing!

We have two DC aged 10 and 7, our eldest has ASD.

We have had some brilliant holidays in the Lake District (staying near Pooly Bridge), Cornwall (near Camelford) and Wales (Conwy and Saundersfoot). We're hoping to go back to Saundersfoot this year as we all loved it. When we stayed at Conwy we did a trip to ZipWorld for the Fforest coaster which was amazing!

Anglesey
Stunning coastline, lots to do - Conwy, Llandudno, Snowdonia etc all close by. I also find that my money goes far in North Wales. www.visitanglesey.co.uk/en/

Wales - north or south depending on where you are travelling from. There are lovely beaches all over, and you can head north for mountains and lakes with associated activities.

Bluestone in Pembrokeshire is lovely, you could head to Barafundle and Broadhaven South beaches from there and there are lots of outdoor activities on site.

Good NT properties would be Colby or Dinefwr in the south, or Penbryn Castle and Plas Newydd in the north. Anglesey or the Llŷn Peninsula for beaches in North Wales, or if you stay near Llanberis there are watersports on Llyn Padarn or Llyn Tegid near Bala.

We live in Cambridgeshire. We’ve driven 14 hours before. So long drives shouldn’t be an issue.

We’ve booked a week in Northumberland. So looking for something to go alongside it.

I have a 8 year old DS with autism, we are going to a Haven in North Wales. He does have a passport but don't feel he is quite ready for a plane. Caravan holidays are ideal for him as he has lots of space and the site we are going to has lots of activities. Berwick is lovely been there many times, nice beaches and a lovely wee town.
