Where would you recommend for a few nights in Paris?

We're going child free, end of August as an early celebration for my 40th. We want somewhere central and safe and that is nice but not crazy money. Not sure where to start so some recommendations for nice hotels that fit this would be amazing!
Thank!

Thank you! Is there a specific hotel you would recommend?

St Germain

ChicCroissant · 01/03/2020 13:41

We have stayed in the Paris St Germain area and it's nice, not too far to get into the centre of Paris. We stay near the Pantheon.

Still not very cheap though Grin unfortunately!

Howaboutthisone · 01/03/2020 13:51

I don't mind it being 'not cheap'. Just can't go spending a fortune that's all 😊

Some nice hotels around Pigalle. I stayed at Hotel Rendez-Vous Batignolles (off Place de Clichy) recently and also considered the Hotel Celeste which on the same the road.

balletpanda · 01/03/2020 14:36

I live in Paris and would recommend the 5th arrondissement and around jardin de Luxembourg. Central, beautiful, not rammed with tourists but every street is absolutely beautiful

Getting excited now looking at these!

Hotel Eiffel Kennedy was nice, very central (view of the Eiffel tower from our room), lovely walk along the Seine to see the statue of liberty. Very reasonably priced for its location.

Fifteenthnamechange · 01/03/2020 15:50

Hotel Scarlett in Belleville is great. It's an 'up & coming' area-think east London. Has great food & bars (authentic international cuisine) & good Metro links.

LiveatCityHall · 01/03/2020 16:17

Anywhere in Montmartre. It's my favourite part of Paris and feels like "real" Paris and not very touristy. We stayed at Le Chat Noir on the same road as the Moulin Rouge.

Nettleweed · 01/03/2020 16:26

Another vote for Montmartre. A beautiful area close to Sacre Coeur. Would thoroughly recommend Hôtel des Arts, had a lovely stay there a few years ago!

StarlightLady · 01/03/2020 17:00

I would recommend Bastille. Laid back and fun. Also it’s adjacent to the Marie, the oldest part of Paris.

I’m afraid l’m a bit perplexed at the poster who described Montmatre as not very touristy! It’s one of the most touristic parts of Paris.

Howaboutthisone · 01/03/2020 21:58

We've been looking at the Opera/9th Arrondissement area too.
Will also have a look at these suggestions- thank you!
