This is a light hearted thread really.

Happy:

I am happy to have received my 60+ Oyster card (this is a pre Freedom pass available for 60s in London. So happy cos I bet by the time I retire there will be no Freedom pass.

Not that concerned with lines on my face as I have a round face which I think keeps some of the wrinkles at bay.

Can wear what I want - looks old ladyish? Well I am!

? Not so happy:

Now being called 'Auntie' by people from the Caribbean community. I know it is a term of respect but does kind of underline my age. It is rather nice though and better than "Hey old Woman!" This is not a serious moan. In fact it makes me smile. I am not know as "auntie" in my own family.

Being called Madam in shops. I was only called Madam by my mum when I was little and was a little Madam!

Having to haul myself on to buses and trains and always giving that "Old person" sigh when I sit down!

On the whole though life is pretty fine. Yes I have my ailments but could be a lot worse I think.

63 here still working two jobs as the government decided I couldn't have my pension till im 66, no free bus travel they put that up to 65 where I live, but I am lucky I have no major health problems, don't feel my age, and yes I look older but people say I don't look my age, and as I was a very young mom I am now doing all the things I didn't do in my late teens and twenties, going to live gigs, motorbike rally weekends, holidays abroad, zooming round on a motorbike at the weekends we don't go to rallies

My gran is 87 on her next birthday. I do not think of her as an old lady.
She has volunteered for over 2 decades now. She’s only recently stopped cooking for a pensioners meal club. She affectionately referred to the members as her oldies, despite some of them being significantly younger than her!

My friend is in her 70's and only slowed down a bit when she was fitted with a pacemaker but still out walks me!
