I'm going to have to go to hospital aren't I?

At 6 last night I was getting my PJs on. I put my arm into my top and got it stuck but like the divvy I am I carried on pushing and I pulled my wrist out.
I strapped it up with my wrist support, and took diclofenac and cocodamol, but no change in pain and I have pins and needles from the wrist to the palm of my hand.

I'll have to go to hospital with it won't I?
Shit.

Yes

Canadianpancake · 01/03/2020 08:20

Maybe the walk-in centre?

Soontobe60 · 01/03/2020 08:20

If you go now it shouldn't be too busy. Good luck!

How do you mean pulled your wrist out? As in dislocated it?

Belleende · 01/03/2020 08:20

Yes do. Pins and needles not good. Go now before the Sunday football and rugby injuries start piling in.

Soontobe60 · 01/03/2020 08:21

I wouldn't bother with the walk in centre because you'll probably need an x ray. Where I am, walk in centres don't do x rays.

HerRoyalCarbyLess · 01/03/2020 08:23

I can't go now as I've no childcare for the kids.
My mum can only get here after lunch and I've no one else.

Delila yeah it popped out a bit. I'm used to dislocations. I have EDS, but I can usually get it sorted myself, but I never had the pins and needles.before so I'm guessing that's not good.

On a brighter note, my fingers are all still there.

cant the kids come too?

Sedona123 · 01/03/2020 08:36

Check if you have a minor injuries unit nearby as they can do X-rays. The one near us does, and it only took an hour to be seen including X-rays last week.

HerRoyalCarbyLess · 01/03/2020 08:39

Enid it would mean dragging them all up to hospital, one of which has suspected autism and would freak out, and another which has a severe anxiety disorder so would affect her too.
The only one that wouldn't be bothered would be the 11 year old as long as he could play his phone Grin
It's honestly too much like hard work getting them all up there as I'd constantly be trying to calm them down, and if DS2 has a meltdown, he can become quite dangerous, thrashing about etc.
I also use either crutches or a wheelchair depending on my pain levels.
So I'll be trying to struggle along with just one crutch as I can't use my right wrist at all.

Sedona everything here is based at the hospital. It's stupid.

Pins and needles is nerve or circulation damage potentially. Take taxi, take children before the football rush starts.

Bluewavescrashing · 01/03/2020 08:41

Good luck OP. Please get seen asap

HerRoyalCarbyLess · 01/03/2020 12:37

I'm in a and e now. My fingers started to swell and I've had to take my rings off

PotteringAlong · 01/03/2020 12:40

OoohShock hope you get sorted soon

lljkk · 01/03/2020 12:46

Ah jaysus, that sounds horrid. Update us please if you can. I hope it's all over with soon. x

InglouriousBasterd · 01/03/2020 12:49

Ouch!! Glad you’ve got yourself seen! If it helps, I dislocated my shoulder making my bed before Blush

Ginkypig · 01/03/2020 13:13

Pins and needles can indicate nerve involvement so it's good to get it checkout so glad you made it up.

Good luck!

HerRoyalCarbyLess · 01/03/2020 16:00

Dislocated. Popped back in and strapped up for 2 to 4 weeks. Apparently the pins and needles night stay for that long, I've just got to keep it supported and take regular pain killers (cocodamol and diclofenac)
