hi there guys! hopefully this is the right place to post this

Around 4 hours ago I was involved in a car accident, a car at about 10-15mph bumped into the back of me. It has caused minor damage and my car and no damage on his car.

Unfortunately in the heat of the moment I only took a picture of his reg and got his phone number. There is hardly any damage on either car and he is denying all responsibility.

Is it worth going through the insurance? I am ok and there is no damage to either car. Even if I did, I only took a picture of his reg because there was no damage at all.

If I was to make a claim, he would dispute it, are the odds that nothing will come out of it due to the lack of evidence and the fact I've only got his phone number, reg and nothing else?

thank you!

Of course you can get whiplash at 10mph

Your probably not wrong in the same way you could get whiplash on a roller coaster or a emergency stop . I had to do emergency stop yesterday .
I think it's a bit of a drama llama really , no damage , put in a claim and if you want but it'll probably be disputed . unless you have a camera you can't prove the speed and if no damage sounds like a lot of hassle to me unless you are in some pain are you ?

Someone once hit me from behind at the entry to a major roundabout. She claimed I reversed into her. Hmm

Amazing how many people deny responsibility for car accidents. Like it's the worst thing in the world to be at fault.

My mum was in an accident so bad it involved police and an ambulance - the guy pulled out onto the road and hit her, and was very apologetic at the time, gave statement to the police etc. Then for the insurance claim fabricated a completely false story involving my mum dangerously overtaking him and then swerving into his car. It was only the fact that they had the police statement at the time that it went down as his fault, and not my mum's.

We've all got dash cams now.

OP - you have a photo of his numberplate and his phone number - he can't just deny responsibility. Well, I suppose he is...! But let your insurance company deal with it.

Even if you choose not to make an insurance claim you do need to report the accident to your insurance company and make future insurers aware when taking out policies.
