Why am I suddenly always so bleedin cold?!

For the last 3/4 weeks I just cannot get warmed up. Im sat in the office with a scarf and cardigan on glaring at the aircon (which is at a very reasonable temperature). At home I am sat in dressing gown or jumper, heating on and blankets piled on me. My hands are always freezing to the touch and wearing gloves 24/7 isn't really viable for full function. Bedtime I have fluffy socks on and a hot water bottle. None of these things are like me at all!

I had a bad cold a few weeks ago but I'm well over that now. I had bloods taken at the docs for an unrelated thing the other week and they said everything was normal. Why has this suddenly come upon me? I suppose I'm just having a moan, as I doubt anyone here has any real insight into my inner workings if I don't Sad

Did you have your thyroid tested?

chillyvagilly · 28/02/2020 11:40

@cocolapew No. I wouldnt say I have any of the other symptoms for a thyroid issue. I feel pretty well and healthy at the moment. Just incessantly cold. Its my hands that are bothering me the most as I can't sit in work with gloves on, whereas at least I can pile up with cardi's and scarves.

When I was low in B12 I couldn't get warm. Not part of full blood count. Also, you might need to eat a bit more fat temporarily.

Get up and start moving. You need to get the blood circulation going to feel warm.

@TenCornMaidens Ive had a quick google of B12 and that could potentially make sense. Some of the symptoms such as sore tongue (which I woudnt have put any thought into), paleness and bruising make lot of sense. Ive got a corker of a bruise on my hand which after 8 days has been every colour of the rainbow and is still no closer to going away! I will look to order some vitamins which may help with this.

Pregnant? That's always my first symptom

ImportantWater · 28/02/2020 12:04

This has happened to me as I have got older (am mid 40s) and I think it is a circulation issue for me; my mum is the same. My fingers and feet get very cold and whitish, and once I am cold I find it very difficult to warm up again - I have to have a hot bath usually. It doesn't help that i work from home in a cold Victorian house....

I was just about to say, could it be a getting older thing. I've noticed that I'm feeling the cold much more than I did 5/10yrs ago. My hands feel it first and then my feet. I've recently lost alot more weight so that might be something to add. I'm just so bloody cold!😭 Going to look into that B12 thingy too though.
