Buggy for a 2 year old

Frustratingly, my son's "heavy weight" buggy (ie a buggy rather than a stroller, for long walks/heavy shopping etc) broke a couple of days before his 2nd birthday.

He is quite a big, tall 2 year old - around 14kg. He is very lively and active and a good walker, and will often walk one or two miles without much prompting but obviously he still gets tired after a while and still has a nap in the middle of the day. The other difficulty is that I don't drive and we live about 1.5miles out of the centre of a large town (there is a bus service) at the top of a big hill, so I tended to rely on letting him walk one way and pushing him back the other.

I am worried that relying on a lightweight stroller isn't going to be practical but equally I don't want to pay out loads of money for a more heavyweight buggy if he's not going to use it much longer. I already had one second hand buggy that collapsed so not super keen on going down that route again.

Any advice: or any suggestions for a stronger buggy for a 15kg+ child that doesn't cost the earth?!

I've got a Hauck Rapid 4s for my 2 year old.(I needed something easy to fold and push one handed whilst holding my 4 year olds' hand) It can take a child up to 22kg and has a large basket. I can't fault it so worth looking at.

My tall 2yo went in a second hand Maclaren Techo XT from eBay. It had been through a few kids before my DS and just kept going and going. Sold it on again when we finished with it. Definitely seemed well made and my DS was big for his age (we bought it because it was tall enough, his head reached the top of our old buggy and the canopy rested on his head!)
