Pocket Money for 6 year old

How much pocket money do you give to your 6 year old?

DC1 is just turning 6 and think it's time start pocket money. Just curious to see what others get. I know it will depend on area, income etc.

Dd2 got £2 per week at that age, straight on to a Go Henry card.

No pocket money but they earn a marble for doing a piece of reading/homework/good behaviour (2 if it’s a lot). They go in the marble jar and once there’s 10 I swap it for a £1. Probably equates to £1 a week. I also threaten to take one away for bad behaviour - the threat normally works 😬

None. I never gave pocket money. If the kids need or want something we buy it for them, within reason.

DD1 is 7 and gets £2. I expect her to help around the house, with age-appropriate tasks.

DD2 is 4 and gets £1 - will move to £2 when she turns 5, now that she is in school. Also has to help out when asked.

We buy most things for them and put money in savings for them, but if something that's utter crap and they really want it then they can spend their money on that.

I think my daughter got £2 an hour at that age . Went to £3 at 7. I think it’s important to help them learn about saving . My 8 year old is currently saving to go to Harry Potter studio your.

Sounds like £2 is a good amount to start with. Want to start teaching her about saving and looking after her money.
