Duvet covers that aren't too big for the quilt (boring!)

Does anyone own a duvet cover that isn't too big for the damn quilt?! I'm fed up of having empty covers and my duvet halfway down the bed I've got a king-size Asda Feels like Down duvet and an Asda basic cotton cover and then a Fogarty extra soft cover. The Fogarty one is huuuuge compared to the quilt, but I don't want to buy a double duvet cover and risk it being too small. When we had a double bed I bought expensive John Lewis bedding and it was still too big for the quilt . Any recommendations?

It's a sign of the times...duvets that don't fit properly in the covers and toasters that fail to toast both sides of the bread but that's a whole new thread!

Ok lots of replies thank you! I will try putting the duvet covers on the other way but I'm pretty sure I'm using it the right way round, due to the labels/design of the duvet. I did look at the measurements of the duvet online (I cba to measure the actual duvet) and there is a discrepancy between them and standard KS covers so I guess that is the issue!

Duvet clips sound promising as a solution

I only use a double, so the covers fit OK at first. What I HATE is when the duvet then creeps down inside the cover! I give a good shake when I make the bed, but the duvet never stays put. I've tried sewing tape and loops on, but it's a real faff. It's a goose down duvet - maybe they all do that?

Well you should because if I hadnt have measured mind I would still have a headache over the issue now. The duvet box said the uk standard size for superlind duvet but what I had was bigger than a long but smaller than a superking and smaller than the advertised size on the box! I took it back and swapped it but the whole batch was the same (very sly of the company!) I changed to a different brand and it was the correct size as advertised.

I’m very pleased I found this old thread as I thought I was going nuts 😂 KS duvet from IKEA should fit KS cover from IKEA...but it seems something has changed and their covers are now extra wide, so will need to get new 240x220 duvet to match.
