Craft party for DDs 10th bday - ideas needed

DD is having a small party at home and wants an arts/crafts party.

Has anyone done similar? So far I'm thinking either T-shirt or tote bag painting with fabric pens/paints, decoupage, or buying a load of cheap A4 canvases for them to paint.

I'm just worried they will need some ideas or direction or it could turn into a complete mess. Do I need stencils, pictures for them to copy etc? A theme?

Has anyone done a similar party? Please share any ideas/experiences.

I bought T shirts and fabric paints for my daughters 10th a few weeks ago - the girls didn't touch them. They wanted music and Ipad's and phones, and to watch movies and eat crap....

We were the craft party gods....

Most popular: kilner jars(or equivalent) - get some glass stickers - butterfly/fairy etc, fill in with glass paint, put cheap battery fairy lights inside.

Also popular was the paint a pot craft party - our local one does a home-party-kit - everyone gets a pot/bowl/plate there is a set of outliners and a set of paints. worked really well - some did simple hearts etc, others big designs, my party girl's little sis did fingertip dots in different colours.

My dds went to a party last weekend where they decorated wine bottle and put fairy lights inside. They looked nice and the dc loved them.

Soap making, forgot that one. We were right into that years ago (before slime). You could make lip balm and soap, decorate cupcakes eat. Soap and lip balm are party bags. Party done. I’ve just had a look on Pinterest and there is lots of fab things out there!

Decopatch? - Sticking tissue paper on shapes - I bought initials for the DC and let them get on with it. Can also cover little boxes or decorative shapes. Cheaper than the official glue and tissue is printed napkins and pva glue - you can stick this on the outside of a jam jar and add battery fairy lights or tea light for s room decoration.

Sugar paste decorations? Buy coloured paste, research a few ideas - simple roses, teddies etc, provide a few modelling tools - you could have a few buns or a couple of sponges ready to decorate with them and have a bakeoff style competition?
Bath bombs?

At this age it needs to be a bit more complicated to feel grown up, but not too difficult that they give up too quickly. At about that age I did craft then afternoon tea - tiny sandwiches, various cakes, choc dipped strawberries and grown up fizzy drinks (appletize and similar) in champagne flutes, and hot chocolate in pretty teacups.

I would have a carousel of activities going on. So maybe 1 table with biscuit decoration (simple digestives, icing, silver balls etc), one for balloon modelling for example, one for t-shirt decoration, one for nail or face painting, etc.

I once bought those large brown letters - their initials for them to decorate.

Loads of cheap jewellery stuff on amazon too x

My daughter went to a party where they made dream catchers and chimes. She loved it.
My daughter is turning 9 next month and I've decided on t-shirt painting and a pamper party. Such a difficult age.
