Flower subscriptions?

Can anyone recommend a flower subscription service that they've been really pleased with?
I used to use B&W but tbh I found it a little heavy on the foliage and light on the flower... plus, thinking back, the packaging was on the extreme side.

Just here looking at the already dead roses Dh got from the supermarket for Valentine's Day and realising I like having flowers around.
Or is it a case that I should get off my arse and go support a local small business florist and choose exactly what I want??

I’ve used Freddie’s flowers lots and still if I could afford it. You get an email the week before showing what you’ll get so you can opt out if it’s not to your taste.

I use Freddies Flowers. The arrangements are beautiful and last for weeks. If you want to use my code to sign up you'll get a free box.

These subscriptions are terrible for the environment. Almost all flowers are imported by plane, covered in chemicals and use huge amounts of electricity to grow them. Look up a local grower on the flowers from the farm website and set up a subscription with them - most will be happy to.

Happy to recommend a local grower if you tell me your area!

I thought Freddie was a grower. I'm interested too

FlowerBe are lovely.

My best friend used to work for Freddie’s flowers but quit because she found it too awful for the environment. Website openly says flowers are grown in uk, Holland and more ‘exotic’ countries.

Speak to your local florist and see what they can do for you on a bi-weekly, least that way you can tell what to your likes are.

I don't have a local florist. Interesting info about Freddie's

Fridakahlofan · 20/02/2020 07:28

@davros you will have a local grower who does deliveries (not florist with a shop). Try the flowers from the farm website. Admittedly not much in season other than daffodils and hellebores at the moment! But both so beautiful.

Sammysquiz · 20/02/2020 08:29

I had an awful experience with Freddie’s Flowers - the flowers were lovely, but so many delivery issues (not arriving, going to the wrong address etc) and in the end I just gave up with them.

elfofftheshelf · 20/02/2020 08:33

I used Freddie's Flowers for about 8 months. Lovely flowers, but they are quite repetitive and you can get better value (for money and the environment) from local growers / florists.

Davros · 20/02/2020 10:44

fridakahlofan I'm sure I've spelt that wrong! Thanks for the info, I will do some research. At the moment I'm buying £1 bunches of dafs
