Need to know - flying with toddler

Hi all.

Hoping for some advice. I'm flying with my just turned 2yo DD in 2 weeks to Tenerife from a London airport. She's still in nappies and drinks unsweetened almond milk as she has allergies and that's the only thing she'll drink. She goes go through shit loads of it though.

Questions:

How on earth do I keep her quiet and still on a flight? She's such an active little madam who I struggle to contain at mealtimes let alone a flight!

What do I do about her milk? Pack it in my case? Can I make bottles ready and then put them in her changing bag for the flight?

I've checked the airports shops and none of them would stock the almond milk so can't even buy it there.

Nappies - do I pack for the whole week in her case? Or buy when I'm there? Don't want to land and have to speed off to the supermarket straight away. I'd like to have a shower and unpack first or is this not doable?

Toys- we'll be staying in an all inclusive hotel that has a baby pool, park and kids club but even still do I pack toys? How many? Case or hand luggage?

Buggy - do I have to pay extra to take it on the plane? Does it go in overhead storage or where the case goes? Will it come out with the case on the other side?

Any tips, tricks or recommendations?

Thank you everyone

If you are going to south Tenerife you should be able to get nappies there pretty easily. I usually take enough for a few days to allow us to happen upon a shop rather than a mad dash on arrival.
Re the buggy I would check on the airline website. I think car seats and pushchairs are usually free to take so long as they don't exceed a weight limit.
I bought 'gate check' car seat and push chair bags to keep them clean and dry. There are lots of options of them on amazon. Think mine were £10 each, there are better more durable options though.
Almond milk should be ok to pack but I doubt you will get it through security. Perhaps you could call ahead to an airport coffee shop and ask them to have plenty in stock to fill her bottles once you are through.

Sorry if I missed anything there

Re toys - I tend to pack kids their own hand luggage and let them choose from a few small and easy (quiet) things. Just be careful of anything with batteries. We had success with teddies, hatchimals, themed snap cards, stickers, crayons and colouring books and finally a few apps and Netflix episodes downloaded on my phone/iPad and suitable size earphones.
Depending on your child wrapping each activity up as a surprise present could go either way - induce excitement and hyperactivity or else hold her attention and keep her interested in 'activities'.
If you choose to wrap them up you may be asked to open them in security but I've always been fine.

just done a google - you can buy powdered almond milk (I had this problem with goat milk - don't ask!) I think you can make up bottles for dc but you should ask - which airport are you going from? it might be worth while checking if you can buy some from the other side of security maybe check what shops there are there & give them a ring?
