Fridge door left open, how quickly does stuff go off?

It's been open (only about an inch, DH just didn't push it properly closed) since about 7am and I closed it at 12.15pm so just over 5 hours. There's not masses in there, the usual butter, milk, salad veg etc plus coleslaw and the mince and garlic bread I was going to use for tonight's tea. It all feels cool, not properly cold like it should be but not warm either, colder than room temp definitely. Would you chuck anything I've mentioned or will it all be ok?

It’ll be fine.

dementedpixie · 13/02/2020 12:39

I would use all of it

MrsJemimaDuck · 13/02/2020 12:40

I’m sure everything in there will be fine.

Hidingtonothing · 13/02/2020 12:46

Phew, I was pretty sure it would be ok but didn't want to poison anyone, thanks for confirming Smile

Just cook the mince thoroughly, everything else is fine.

I am forever leaving mine open Hmm.
I have never given myself food poisoning

Fridges are a fairly recent convenience :o it's not going to poof into a cloud of bacteria after a few hours.

MrMeSeeks · 13/02/2020 18:38

I was told after 3 hours its not safe

TheGreatWave · 13/02/2020 18:39

Our fridge is often left ajar. Worst thing is the milk then has that not quite cold enough taste to it.
