Where did the body shop go wrong?

I remember them in the 90s, and remember there stance of being ethical and so many things being relevant to modern society.

Reusable plastics and shopping bags as well as cruelty free cosmetics.

Why did it sell out and become an unethical mlm.

Stopped going in when they sold out to L'Oreal.

I did actually try them again a few months ago - such pushy staff. Do they use the same training policy as Lush? I won't be going back.

I found it very expensive. I think if people had the choice between body shop foundation or Clinique they'd choose Clinique.

I've found the sales staff in the shops a bit full on. It puts me off going in and just trying things.

When I did go in though, I tried a lipstick which tasted horrible. And I don't like the way they sell their eye-shadows.

I still like their eyeliners. But yes, overall, it's pricey for what it is.

Such a shame. The body shop used to be amazing. Unique, original and the first skincare/beauty brand to offer refills to save on packaging. It was so ahead of its time. Then Anita sold out to L’Oréal and now it’s just another boring generic brand like the rest of them. I looked in there over the Christmas period and it had sodding gift baskets - loads of packaging and looked like anything you’d see in M&S. Totally bland and overpriced now.
