Where can I work abroad

I posted this in work but noones about there today perhaps...

I'm 34 and dh turns 36 this year. We are both qualified accountants but don't have degrees. We want to do further qualifications but don't have the spare £££ right now.
We're do find that with our one dc so much money just goes on living costs and would love to be somewhere even if it's for a few years while dc still young (6).

We don't earn badly here but just fed up with constantly paying out for everything and would like the opportunity to save more for our future even if it's for a few years and we return here. Also would be nice to experience a change of scenery after deaths in both our families have left us without family so nothing to tie us here really anymore and really struggling with childcare as well as a result.

What qualifications do you have?

What experience do you both have? Industry or practice ?

Abroad you may have language issues, work permit/visa problems, discrimination against you because you aren't local, unfamiliar with local laws/tax rules, cost of living/wages not necessarily making you feel better off and loads of other hurdles.

If two accountants don't feel quite comfortable in the UK, you must be living in a very expensive part of the country - London/SE?

What about another UK city where your wages should make you feel quite well off? Two full time professional salaries of even £30/40k outside London puts you in the top few percent of earners, so would have a comfortable standard of living.

First few years of living abroad can be very expensive and moving back equally so.
Do you speak any languages, what countries are you thinking about and where do you live now?as Barbara said, where do you live currently, best bet for cheaper living maybe a move within the UK.

Depends on your 'qualified accountant' qualification. Not all qualifications are recognised in all countries. Your member body acca/Cima/Aca should be able to advise you on working abroad and the complications/benefits.

You'd also need to consider your own nationality and the Visa requirements of countries you wish to move to.

We were in London then moved to another part of SE but seemingly just as expensive by the time we've incorporated extra time travelling to station/high train fares extra fuel costs plus extra childcare costs in the holidays. I now work pt as childcare crippling. We have no help so rely on school and in school holidays the clubs

I have lived outside the SE and not really enjoyed the differences further north --omg it never stops raining in some parts!

will undoubtably end up back in London at some point unless there really are areas that are better. Also I'm mixed race so can't just move to any place unfortunately. Tried that didn't work out and I'm very friendly and try hard wherever I end up to fit in.

Dh is english. I now work pt both of us trained in practise and now in industry, both chartered certified?
Perhaps it's unrealistic. I have a very good understanding of German but would take a couple of months to brush off the cobwebs to have a full blown conversation.

Dh has worked in Germany thought and isn't so keen on there and I think it's difficult to get a job there. We've been looking out for placements via U.K. companies but things seem to be drying up with brexit.
