Seeing a GP away from home - quick question!

My young adult DD is feeling suicidal and I am going to get her and bring her home. She is on medication (anti depressants) but is running out and is only taking half a dose until her next GP appointment next week.

Will she be able to see a GP in my area and get enough meds to see her through the week before she goes back home and to her own GP?

ask them and find out.
could you ring 111 for further advice, they might be able to send out crisis team, or rapid response nurse.
good luck.

Can she not book an appointment with her own GP urgently?

Yes, you should be able to get her emergency treatment or to register her as a temporary patient

Yes you can register as a temporary patient at a GP surgery if you are away from home you just need to fill in a form at the surgery.

Running out of antidepressants when you feel suicidal would also be seen as a medical emergency though so the crisis team or urgent care may also assist if you can't wait for a GP appointment.

She can be seen as a temporary resident or an immediate and necessary.

Her own GP surgery could also send a prescription electronically to a chemist near you, but you may want her seen given how she is feeling.

Thank you everybody. Her own GP surgery won’t see her until Monday and it’s too much for her to cope with at the moment, pushing for a prescription.
I’ll get her and then take her to my GP.
