DS13 hears voices and self harming worried

My DS 13, had an episode of self harming in Sept, he said back then that people are talking in his head and have been doing for ages but doesn't bother him, then Friday he self harmed again after a break and said the voices are alway arguing, we ended up at a and e for an assesment, he told a and e that he is overwhelmed in school everything is too noisy and that the arguing doesn't help. . He's been referred back to camhs and also EIT and EDIT. How worried should I be? Should mention that DS has high functioning autsim, was diagnosed at 7, although in recent years I have questioned that diagnosis as he has an amazing imagination and always has, in fact it says on his diagnosis report that Ds often goes off on a flight of fancy. He has always alway made many claims that are clearly false, like making pac man, being the best basketball player, having a dinosaur in his back yard, so could it not just be imagination?
He said the voices are 2 people, not directly speaking to him just always arguing between themselves, last argument was about toast apparently .
Also last year he contacted the police about being followed, police followed it up with cctv said it didn't happen and DS is still adament it did and seems very confused by it.

My dad had a pyschotic episode after an heart attack when he was 40, so not sure that counts as was triggered.

Flowers. I'd book in to see his GP. My thoughts are with you. Xx.
Hopefully in the mornin g someone more knowledgeable will be alone. I'll give this a few bumps in the meantime .

Hopefully Camhs will come through for him.
People with Autism have good imaginations, and can invent things.

Morning lovely. How are you all this morning.
There are many links between autistic spectrum conditions and psychosis. So what you’re describing isn’t uncommon.
It can feel really scary but there are some quite common links.
Asc’s can stop someone having both an internal monologue and also being able to identify figments ot their own imaginations or that anxiety isn’t fact due to black and white thinking
Which it sounds like may be happening to your DS.
Whatever happens EI services are amongst the best funded and well staffed mental health services going so I’m sure he will get wonderful care

Sorry I never replied because I was scared of seeing the responses! Sorry. We went to camhs today who have put him on their waiting list for therapy which is 11 month long! Also she is ringing early intervention to see why they haven't contacted me yet. She also said she thinks he may have adhd, I agree but we have to go through school for a referral to camhs which seems crazy as 13 were already at camhs! Lol.
My son has been setting fire to things recently which the woman at camhs said may be impulsivity, ds said he doesn't know why he does it he just does. It's obviously a safety concern as he is doing it either when i'm asleep or am not in the house, which is very rarely! Cleaned his room other day and found about 50 matches under his bed.
He is still saying he has 2 voices but they dont bother him. I really do wonder if it's an internal voice or voices and he just can't identify it because of the autism? Camhs seem to think they ate pyschotic voices though but I'm not sure
