Can anyone recommend a brand? Lots on Amazon but saying you still need sanitary wear, is this always the case??

I've got Wuka - they're on the expensive side but work perfectly. I don't wear anything else with them and haven't had any problems.

Thank you, do mind paying a wee bit more if they work x

The ones I've got are Flux . I've used them on their own and no problems . Only thing I would say is , they take ages to dry after washing !

I have wuka ones too. What attracted me to them is that you can wear them by themselves.

Nearlyadoctor · 09/02/2020 15:47

Cheeky wipes and Modibodi - can wear both on their own. Fantastic

FlaskMaster · 09/02/2020 15:52

I've got modibodi which are great. Don't buy any that you have to use pads or tampons with, what a total pointless waste! I heard Sainsbury's have started doing some for a tenner each, might be worth a try.

AntennaReborn · 09/02/2020 16:02

I second Cheeky Wipes and Modibodi. Modibodi do a seamless brief which is very discreet under clothes. I use a tampon in the morning on very heavy flow days (mostly because I am out of the house 12h +) , but they are very absorbant by themselves

MrEzraGoldberg · 09/02/2020 16:06

The whole point of period pants is that they remove the need for pads/tampons. Obviously for extremely heavy periods, they are a great back up, giving extra reassurance. You are supposed to be able to wear them alone as sanitary protection.

I've tried a few and have been happy with them all. WUKA are GREAT for absorbency and no leaks overnight on my heaviest days. I got a couple of pairs from Etsy but can't remember the sellers name - they were very colourful and patterned. Cheekywipes also good.

The padded crotch on all of them mean they're not really great for under tight clothes, leggings and so on, but otherwise, fine.

Thanks guys, defo want them to replace pads, they are irritating me so much.

Thinking about getting these, how many pairs would you need for a normal 5 day cycle?

FlaskMaster · 09/02/2020 19:16

Santa01 I got 10, and change every 12 hours.

AppleDragon · 09/02/2020 19:18

Just got the £10 Sainsbury's ones and I'm really pleased. Very comfy - no leaks

LoopyGremlin · 09/02/2020 19:19

I’ve got the Modibodi and find them pretty good, although they are expensive at £25 a pair 😫

NaomiShapiro · 09/02/2020 23:48

Can you tumble dry the sainsburys ones? I know it says you shouldn't but has anybody tried it, on purpose or by accident?

EmpressJewel · 10/02/2020 08:17

Santa01 I have 3 pairs, but I also use pads/tampons throughout my cycle, depending on what I'm doing. It does mean that I'm forever washing them, to ensure I have enough (but it's only for a couple of days).

I have tumble dried mine, when I have needed to. I normally dry them on the radiator.
