Can you guys diagnose me?!

I will see a GP, but it isn't urgent and I wondered if anyone here had something similar.

This afternoon I was struck down suddenly with gastric issues. It almost appeared like I'd got a stomach bug but it definitely isn't.
I have such bad nausea that I can't stand. I can't move, I can't look at my phone or focus on anything it's horrible. It comes in waves and is SO strong, I feel a bit dizzy with it but that could be me holding my breath trying not to hurl.

It lasts about 2 hours before it starts to fade away.

The last time it happened was about 3 weeks ago.

Both times it ruined what was supposed to be a nice afternoon out.

I haven't eaten anything different than I usually do. I checked the milk wasn't off, I haven't eaten any meat or fish.

Why is this happening?

It's really really annoying.

I had something slightly similar (but with vomiting as well) and it was "just" stress - could this apply for you? (wasn't in a stressful situation at all when it occurred Confused but probably quite high background levels, if that makes sense)

Or something to do with your gall bladder?

KnightandDay · 08/02/2020 18:02

Felt like that when I had gallstones, had my gall bladder out and no issues since! Hope you're feeling better soon.

TheNoiseHurts · 08/02/2020 18:02

No definitely not stressed, I've just gone back after maternity leave and very happy to be back.

Don't you get severe pain with gallbladder issues?

OP posts:
KnightandDay · 08/02/2020 18:05

Yes pain, but also nausea and vomiting.

MapMySleighRide · 08/02/2020 18:07

Could it be vertigo?

TheNoiseHurts · 08/02/2020 18:11

I looked up vertigo, I really thought it might be that!
But no dizziness in the way that it's described

POAS?

BadCatDirtyCat · 08/02/2020 18:15

Problem with your inner ear?

BadCatDirtyCat · 08/02/2020 18:16

Labyrinthitis I think is what it's called..

99problemsandthecatis1 · 08/02/2020 18:17

I think it's big going around. DH and I have had similar for the past 3/4 weeks

99problemsandthecatis1 · 08/02/2020 18:17

*bug. Not big

Binterested · 08/02/2020 18:19

Gallbladder can flare up post partum. Mine did when DD was four months old. Had it removed after a couple of months worth of episodes.

TheNoiseHurts · 08/02/2020 18:20

Ah!! Labyrinthitis! Very possibly! I've had tinnitus in my ears recently as well, this would make sense.

Definitely don't need to POAS, DH and I haven't had a chance in a while and he's had a vasectomy.

medlineplus.gov/ency/article/003120.htm
Generalized pain -- This means that you feel it in more than half of your belly. This type of pain is more typical for a stomach virus, indigestion, or gas. If the pain becomes more severe, it may be caused by a blockage of the intestines.
Localized pain -- This is pain found in only one area of your belly. It is more likely to be a sign of a problem in an organ, such as the appendix, gallbladder, or stomach.

Sounds like the last one.

TheNoiseHurts · 08/02/2020 18:52

Oh no it was generalised. It was from my throat all the way down to my butt.
Felt horrific, took over that whole part of my body.

IBS pain can be horrific, as in lying on the bathroom floor in a cold sweat pain worse than childbirth - then suddenly goes.
