4 month old not pooing.. really worried

My baby girl is 4months old now. She is mostly breastfed and topped up with formula (250-300ml a day). Until 10weeks she used to poo after every feed. Now, from 31st Dec till today she has only done it 6 times. Almost like once a week, but in large quantity (soft, liquidish, mustard color). GP gave her laxative last month, saying that is normal in babies. I have to give her laxative on the 6th/7th day after the last poo. Otherwise, she doesn't feel like doing it. I also try to give her a bit of water (sometimes with apple juice) everyday.
Has anyone experienced this before? Really worried. Seeking some advice. :((

My DD2 was like this, I think a little earlier say 7 weeks to 12 weeks. Went from daily poos to weekly or even less. EBF, not constipated but definitely not comfy after 3+ days not pooing! I used to help bring it on by tummy massage and pushing knees gently towards chest, but it didn’t always work. Then one week she just grew out of it and started pooing more often. I’ve read of other ebf babies doing this too at a similar age.

As far as I know pooing once a week is within the normal range for breastfed babies, but you should follow your GP’s advice.

Both mine were EBF and pooed once a week- very normal

About 11am every Tuesday for 6 months. My daughter was very regular.

Thank you for the replies. Today is her 7th day since the last poo, gave her laxative yesterday, but still no result.
With the topup with formula, I was expecting more bowel movement than EBF.

Has anyone experienced the loss of appetite in babies due to irregular bowel movement?

After passing his meconium before being discharged from hospital, my (EBF) baby did not poo again for 6+ weeks. We were sent to a&e approximately every 5 days by the midwives, where he would be given a glycerin suppository, poo, and we would go home. After about 8-12 weeks he would go about once a week of his own accord. This continued until weaning at 6 months, when he started his now completely regular cycle of one bowel movement a day. Nobody has ever been able to tell me why he didn’t poo, but he is, and was always, perfectly fine (if a little gassy from time to time) Confused
