Worried - eaten half a bruised apple

This hopefully sounds ridiculous and most of you will say not to worry.
Was in a rush and grabbed an pole from the fruit bowl, are most of it very quickly then realized it tasted mushy. Then saw it had lots of bruises not very obvious on the skin but just by the slight softness / dents as it was a very red apple.
So I've obviously eaten some bruises. Other than the bruises the flesh was normal white. It's probably an apple that's been on a trip to school and back....
Am I going to get poorly? I'm normally careful about cutting the bruises out.

And yes I have diagnosed anxiety disorder

Well your face won't drop off or anything. And yes, it's your anxiety talking. Just tell it to shut up

LickYouLikeACrispPacket · 05/02/2020 20:11

It will do you no harm at all!

FuzzyAtmosphere · 05/02/2020 20:11

I think you will be fine. I’ve never been poorly from eating apple bruises and I think if they were that bad, or the apple had gone mouldy you would have tasted it and stopped.

You’ll be fine. They don’t taste very nice, but there’s nothing intrinsically wrong or poisonous about them. Unless you have a Wicked Stepmother and a Magic Mirror? Wink

vampirethriller · 05/02/2020 20:12

You'll be absolutely fine (if it's any comfort, I have all the food hygiene certificates!)

Callimanco · 05/02/2020 20:12

Bruises don't taste very nice but they are in NO WAY a health risk. Don't give it another thought.

KidCaneGoat · 05/02/2020 20:12

That’s your anxiety causing you mischief. You’ll be fine. Smile

TheNestedIf · 05/02/2020 20:13

No. Bruises are fine as long as they haven't gone mouldy. They just feel unpleasantly woolly. It's just oxidisation, like when you cut an apple and it goes brown.

ChardonnaysDistantCousin · 05/02/2020 20:13

No, you won't.

Unless it turns out you are Snow White.

ChardonnaysDistantCousin · 05/02/2020 20:14

Bugger, too late....

WhyNotMe40 · 05/02/2020 20:14

Brilliant thanks! I didn't want to Google (that way madness lies) and I knew it was just my anxiety talking.
I shall firmly tell it to STFU GrinFlowers

Eating a bruised apple will not make you ill.

merryhouse · 05/02/2020 20:23

think of it as the hard surface has done some of the work of digestion for you Grin

IamaBluebird · 05/02/2020 20:29

Used to eat apples in the Orchard, bruised and off the floor. I'm doomed aren't I Smile

TheFluffiestCat · 05/02/2020 21:16

My Grandma, who lived to be 94, used to drop apples on the floor on purpose because she said the bruises made them sweeter.

sassafras123 · 06/02/2020 09:21

Guess you have never been scrumping apples then?
