7th birthday ideas

Anyone been through this hell?
It's for my dd.

I am thinking whole class as dd has just started a new school and it's probably easier to do this. It's in June but I'm normally booked up by now so feeling a little disorganised.

I'm finding age 7 really difficult. So far we've mainly had princess party's. Easy peasy. Hired a hall, princess entertainers and voila.
This year I'm stumped, I'm pretty sure most of the dc have outgrown princesses. Damn it.

So far for 7th birthday parties we've had:

clip n climb (though not the whole class; that would be very expensive!)
Escape room (suitable for this age group) - again, not whole class
Entertainer who did Harry Potter in a hall
Roller skating disco (not whole class)
Ice skating (not whole class - spot the theme!)
Gymnastics (there's a gym near here that does supervised parties).

Only one party has been whole class, and that was joint, but they don't seem terribly popular at DD's school anyway (only two in Y1/reception)

Thanks @bathorshower everyone so far has done whole class parties and as dd is new she hasn't got a close bunch of friends yet.

I've only got one dc so budget isn't so much a problem but don't want to be too silly.
We've had a gymnastic party and a few garden party's but we don't have a big garden. Harry potter in a hall sounds fun. Not sure what they're all into though at the moment.

Older kid soft play place - ours is a franchise called Jump. 2 hours after school. Party food and games provided. Being your own cake.
My DS loved his so much.

Thanks not sure dd would like a soft play place anymore. Will ask her. Not sure what's by me either as moved areas as well.

Would she like some sort of arts and crafts party? Do you have a pottery painting place near you?

You don't have to have the whole class. Do you have space to have it at home?

When my dds were that age, I hired someone to do jewellery making at home.

Trampoline party
Spy adventure
Sports/football...
Forest party (lots do planned things like whittling, camp fires etc)

Thanks for the ideas, I'm taking notes. Going to search them to see what near me. Yes arts and crafts would go down well. Football, no as unfortunately they don't do it at dd school until year 3 so I don't think so many are interested yet. Will look at sports party's though as hadn't considered that.

Don't really want to have it at my house as not keen on clearing it up afterwards. Usually I hire a hall. Happy to go to a venue as well.

OP, you have to clear up in a hall too! And often with limited time to do it.

For whole class I would say trampolining is a great idea at that age. Can she share her party with a classmate to share the costs?

Or hire a hall and do a dance class? With a mini performance to parents in the last 10 minutes. My DD has been to several iterations of this type of party including cheerleading, Bollywood and street dance.

the birthday is in June?
some time away to decide on who to invite.
i would say roller skating
or cinema/pizza
or fancy dress?

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 10/02/2020 11:48

My DD is 7 next month and we've decided on a Dinosaur Science party (dinosaurs because she's obsessed with them, Science to give it a bit wider appeal because I have a feeling the rest of her friends are not obsessed with dinosaurs in the same way).

For her sisters 7th birthday, we did cake decorating and cocktails in the garden, with a water fight (June birthday)

Ten pin bowling.
Swimming, if you have enough adults prepared to get into the water!
BBQ at home.

What have the children who have had whole class parties done?
