Olives in brine

Found a jar of opened olives in my cupboard, probably about 3 months old. They look fine...will I be ill if I eat them? The jar says 14 days from opening.

Is it like ketchup (which says 8 weeks from opening) but which never really goes ‘off’.

I find olives in brine go mouldy surprisingly quickly so I wouldn't touch them. Which gives me an excuse to eat the lot in one go Grin

When they are bad it's obvious. A mould film on the top and mushy olives. So if they look fine I'd eat them!

I agree, you'll know they're bad from a tiny nibble. Would not surprise me if they're fine or terrible.

I keep them in the fridge after opening for much longer than recommended

Just wash em if they have mould.
