Poorly daughter

Hi all,

3 weeks ago my daughter woke with really sore feet. She’s very active, healthy, bright, happy, relaxed girl. She wouldn’t stand on feet. She said they had very sharp pains in them. She also said she had muddly head, headache and was very tired. Her feet hurt so much she was even crawling to toilet.
Night time is much worse. To the point of at 8 o’clock she’s downstairs crying her eyes out kicking feet. She can’t have anything touch them. She’s become very emotional in evenings ( not just exhausted) but weird. She says she can’t think straight. She’s also had pins and needles in fingers. She perks up through day but feels very unwell at night. She hasn’t been to sleep before 11pm for 3 weeks. Normally she goes to bed 7.30 and is very good girl.
She hasn’t gone to school for 3 weeks.
We’ve had bloods come back clear.
We’ve been to a and e 2 times. And peadiatric dept twice. They’re baffled. They’ve said come back when she gets worse basically.
My initial worries were Lyme disease. We live and walk dogs around where there are lots of deer.
I’m also wondering if it could be hormonal in some way?

I’d appreciate any thoughts from anyone.
TIA

How old is she?

To be honest I'd try sending her back to school to see if maybe distraction helps.

How old is she?
Do you think she could have some form of anxiety relating to school?

Holymolymackerel · 02/02/2020 15:30

My daughter refused to walk and said her feet hurt, she was screaming and very unwell, a few days later it came out as hand, foot and mouth. It cleared up within a week though after so long for your dd, not sure.

Could she have had it and even if the pain has cleared, it could have left anxiety about how painful it was.

What is her age OP? What tests have a&e and paediatrics done? Any MRI? I think you need to give quite a bit more info if you want any helpful advice. 3 weeks is a very long time to be off of school with no end in sight and I would be nagging for further testing of the symptoms and appropriate medication to ease them (if none has been done/given) and liaising with the school to make sure she is keeping up, and to work put a plan to get her back into education.

It has to be something OP, mental or physical - any bullying at school or anything going on in her (or your) personal life?

My son did this then about a week later I was able to see little marks it was hand foot and mouth. His took ages to go away completely. He would break his heart walking it was awful. It actually started to get better after 2 weeks but then 5 days later returned and went on for another 2 and half weeks. But sounds like yours is going on a lot longer so not sure if it could be this. Do go back to Dr don't let them fob you off

yes were it not for no blisters it sounds like hand foot and mouth. DS had it so badly he presented very similiar to your DD at the beginning and he was sent to A&E from the Doctors and it was deemed viral. They appeared in his throat then the feet. I take it there are no blisters anywhere

This reads like my daughter a year ago. Leg pains, tummy aches, bad headaches- we were fast tracked through the system. Paeds were rubbish but I fought for another opinion and saw rheumatology. Found out it was growing pains with hypermobility in all her joints which makes the growing pains much worse. We had a horrid 7 weeks, and then it was I'd say once every two weeks for a few month that she has a bad night with kicking and aches. A year old it happens still, not as bad .
