Waterproof rucksack needed

My DD really needs a waterproof rucksack, unfortunately the one I bought is not actually waterproof and all her school books got wet.

If anyone has one and can recommend it, I would be very grateful.

You mean a backpack for school?
No Rucksack is truly waterproof - which is why if you are likely to be in really heavy rain you either need: a waterproof cover or drybags inside to keep your stuff dry.
If your DD just has a quick walk to the bus at either end of the school day - then a "waterproof" backpack should be good enough. She might be okay also if she uses an umbrella. But if she has a walk of any distance, and it's the kind of weather where she needs to put on a cagoule/coat, then she does need a cover for her backpack too.

Few are properly waterproof OP, even my Osprey for walking needs a cover.

Ortlieb make proper waterproof ones and its the one I turn to when I ride my bike into work in the rain but my own teen would rather her books were completely soaked than use something that looks like my Ortleib.

We must have got ten rucksacks between the two of us - mine are for different purposes, DD buys things for the same purpose just because Hmm. Out of DD's I think that this is the best offering in terms of waterproofing but she uses these zipper things for most of her books tbh.

@KitKatBox Thank you, I have some of the zip up folders so will find them and see if they help.

DD always wears her coat. I will look into something to line the inner of her bag.

I have just ordered a Rains backpack hoping it will be waterproof as it claims. My work colleague has gone down the route of getting a Sealskin internal bag instead for her rucksack.

Get an Ortlieb dry bag in the right volume for the rucksack. They're tremendous & not too expensive. Or try your local army surplus store.

I'd use a canoe bag inside the rucksack.
