Talking about time ...

BoringI know, but here goes ...

It is Wednesday the 1st of the month. If I say I will see you Wednesday week, what do you take that to mean?

Wednesday 7th (next week Wednesday)
Wednesday 14th ( a week from Wednesday)?

Wednesday 14th, but in these parts we would say 'a week on Wednesday. Not heard 'Wednesday week'.

I've never heard of that so wouldn't have a clue.

This gets me too.

We use the phrase "Wednesday week" here so that if I was talking to you on Tuesday "Wednesday week" wouldn't mean tomorrow it would mean 8 days hence.

But if I said "Wednesday week" to you ON A WEDNESDAY then all manner of confusion could arise- is it today week, or next Wednesday week?!

I always clarify- "so is that next Wednesday or Wednesday in two weeks?". It's a constant worry (I have a very boring life).

I have just used the expression when talking to clients and they don’t know what I mean ...

I've not heard the phrase but I'd assume the 14th?
