IPSOS shared my private information with someone else

What do I do now?

My ex has two children. One with me and one with “Jane”

We both have child maintenance claims. IPSOS phoned her yesterday to do a survey on customer satisfaction with the child maintenance service.

During the course of the call they asked “and this claim you have is also in relation to outstanding maintenance to “my name and my child’s name”.

They had no prior knowledge if she even knew about us, I don’t recall telling the CMS they could share my data and what the hell are they even doing speaking to someone else about my claim?!

This doesn’t sound right does it?

Well it makes sense they would have names if they have been commissioned to do a satisfaction survey. I suspect you have ticked a box or something during the set up process to allow them to share details with 3rd parties. I dont think this is a breach in the same way as them sharing your details with Jane for example.

But IPSOS sharing my details with Jane absolutely is a breach?!

Ime Cms letters have a breakdown of other dc receiving monies also anyway.
She would know about your dc this way.

That isn’t how surveying works. The surveys aren’t cross referenced in fieldwork and scripts updated on an individual basis. The information is what CMS have shared. If there is a breach (which I doubt there is) then it’s from CMS, not Ipsos.

Sorry, I totally misread what your concern was, I thought you had been called as well. However, all clients sign off on the scripts that are used for research, so I highly doubt there is a breach or else CMS are in for hell from 1000s of people.
