PIP - Timeframe

Hi all,

I have looked on .gov first but they aren't the greatest at outlining their process/timeframe for PIP so I'm just seeing if anyone can share experience.

I have Lupus, APS and PNH and as a result, my warfarin team and haematology consultant advised I should apply for PIP due to how it's affecting me - mentally and physically.

I applied 18th October and returned the forms by the deadline with all supporting documents; consultant letters, hospital admissions, treatment booklets, symptom diary etc. I called beginning of January to make them aware I had been back into hospital for a few days given their text says to make them aware of any changes.

On the call, the lovely lady explained the 'assessment' centre received my application on 12th December so should be in contact soon however I'm still waiting. I've tried calling them today and there was over an hour hold time so I gave up (will try again in the morning)

Has anyone had any experience on how long this process can take? I'm currently undergoing further tests and treatment at the moment resulting in being in hospital every other day but I don't want to miss/decline their appointment if it only gives days notice but at the same time, I can't postpone hospital investigations as I've been incredibly poorly since Christmas Day.

Thanks in advance!

For those who might judge; yes I work but due to reoccurring PEs and clots elsewhere in my body, I now have dynamic working to allow me to do so from home. Since my hospital admission just before New Years and nonstop tests, my consultant has signed me off for 8 weeks until they get to the bottom of why I've begun rejecting anticoagulants, peeing black blood clots and unable to breathe properly despite no sign of new PEs.
